Pedestrian struck, killed by vehicle in Downey

A pedestrian was struck by a vehicle and killed today on a freeway transition road in Downey, the California Highway Patrol reported.
The man, in his 50s, died at the scene of the accident, which occurred about 5:20 a.m. at the transition from the southbound Santa Ana (5) Freeway to the southbound San Gabriel River (605) Freeway, said CHP Officer Jennifer Connelly. His name was withheld pending notification of relatives.
The transition road was blocked for nearly two hours while an investigation was conducted. The driver was interviewed by officers, but was not arrested.

i would like to get more info bout this report. my grandfather was lost foe a few days and was evantually found. this report sounds very concise to the information that my family was given by the police dept and L.A coroner. I would like to find out more information on the person that did the hit and killed that could pontetially be my grandfather. my family and I are looking for answers and need closure to his death.
