This summer, the city of Long Beach and the Army Corps of Engineers are expected to decide what they want to do with the two-mile long federal breakwater.

Their choices will be based on a comprehensive environmental and engineering study, narrowing down six options to restore the area's marine habitat, while also protecting the city's shoreline and coastal property.
