Carlos Zaragoza, a bass player featured in the Peruvian cumbia band La Chamba, was among the four people shot to death in Thursday's shooting rampage in the San Fernando Valley

Zaragoza’s younger brother has been charged with fatally shooting him and their father and wounding their mother, who was hospitalized in stable condition. Two other people were killed and another was critically wounded.

Friends say that in addition to his work as a musician, Zaragoza was a labor activist and a passionate advocate for social justice.

La Chamba has created a GoFundMe page to help the family recover and pay for memorial services.
