Grocery employers and workers’ unions say they’ve reached a deal to raise wages for tens of thousands of employees across Southern California. Union members began voting Monday on whether to approve the agreement, which would avert a potential strike at Ralphs, Albertsons, Vons and Pavilions grocery stores.

Outside a voting station in Pasadena, workers were mixed on the new contract. Some said wage increases were better than they expected, while others said they don't keep up with the rising cost of living in Los Angeles.
